Closure of Ocean View Customer Interaction Centre
10 December 2024
Residents are advised that the Customer Interaction Centre at the Ocean View Housing Office will be permanently closed as of 1 January 2025 but alternatives are in place to assist residents. Residents are also encouraged to make use of the various convenient online payment options.
‘The closure is due to a number of factors, including limited services and a decline in customer visits, among others. Residents in the community will continue to be served via the mobile office. For fault reporting, customers can continue using the free telephone line in the Housing Office.
‘Residents are encouraged to visit another interaction centre, particularly the new Fish Hoek Customer Interaction Centre, and to make use of the City’s various, convenient online options. One option is to make an online booking at a centre which is convenient and another is to use e-Services. A number of services are available here, such as viewing municipal accounts, renewing motor vehicle licences, entering water meter readings and applying for rates rebates, among others. There are also a number of ways to pay online, directly via your bank or at a retail shop. We have also made it simple to do business with the City online by including a QR code on accounts. The City regrets any inconvenience caused to the residents of Ocean View and surrounds,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.
